How to properly choose the adsorbent for the dryer?

Activated alumina:

Activated alumina, also known as activated alumina, English name is Activated Alumina or Reactive alumina. It is a porous, highly dispersible solid material with a large surface area and microporous surface with the properties required for catalysis. It is widely used as a catalyst for chemical reactions and a catalyst carrier, such as adsorption performance, surface activity, excellent thermal stability and the like.

Activated alumina has a selective adsorption power for gases, water vapor and certain liquids. After the adsorption is saturated, the water can be removed by heating at about 175-315 ° C. Adsorption and reactivation can be performed multiple times. In addition to being used as a desiccant, it can also adsorb vapors of lubricating oil from contaminated oxygen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, natural gas, and the like. It can also be used as a catalyst and catalyst carrier and a chromatography analysis carrier.

Activated alumina in the air separation industry pressure swing adsorption dew point can reach -55 degrees.

Molecular sieve:

Molecular sieve refers to a kind of substance which has uniform micropores and its pore size is equivalent to the general molecular size. Molecular sieves are widely used and can be used as high-efficiency desiccant, selective adsorbent, catalyst, ion exchanger and the like. Compared with other adsorbent materials, molecular sieves are characterized by a microporous structure of uniform diameter, which can selectively adsorb gaseous molecules with a diameter smaller than their pore diameter.

Molecular sieves are generally synthetic, and more molecular sieves obtained in the air drying (separation) process are zeolite-type aluminosilicate polyhydrate crystals. It has high thermal stability and chemical stability, and also has the characteristics of sieving performance, ion exchange performance, singleness selection and good adsorption performance, and is usually used in the adsorption chamber of the adsorption dryer.

There are many types of adsorbents on the market, and each customer's requirements are different. Today, a simple method is used to determine which adsorbent to use.
